From the Loving Friends of Pat Trowbridge

Friends of Pat & Mary Trowbridge
December 9, 2024
Many of you may already know that Pat Trowbridge is currently in the ICU at (hospital name). On his way home from Nationals, Pat fell ill, and his condition deteriorated rapidly. Initially diagnosed with pneumonia, he underwent multiple rounds of antibiotics without improvement. This led to hospitalization the week before Convention.
Shortly after, he was intubated and placed in a medically induced coma as he fought a rare fungal infection that began in his lungs. To complicate matters further, Pat is now battling an even rarer blood disorder triggered by the widespread infection throughout his body.
Today, there is progress to be grateful for—Pat is awake and off the ventilator. However, he remains critically ill, and the road ahead will be a long one, with significant rehabilitation still to come. While we don’t yet know what the needs of that process will entail, one thing is certain: thanks to the support of so many, Pat and Mary’s business continues uninterrupted as they navigate each uncertain day. They are incredibly grateful to the many friends, Farm Family and especially to the amazing Team Green Members for keeping the Trowbridge's Ltd. circle moving forward. Some days bring steps forward, others bring setbacks, but they all press on.
Understandably, many friends and customers have reached out asking how they can help. The remaining five board members of the Arabian Horseman’s Distress Fund (AHDF) have approved that donations can be earmarked through the AHDF for Pat and Mary.
Pat and Mary have been the heart and soul of the AHDF since its inception two decades ago, shepherding it with unwavering dedication. Now, in this unexpected and difficult moment, they may find themselves in need of the very help they’ve so selflessly provided to others.
If you feel called to ease their burden during this time, donations can be made to the AHDF earmarked for Pat and Mary's needs by donating here, should they find themselves in that position. Should they move forward and ultimately not require the funds, your kindness will remain in the AHDF, ready to support the next member of our community facing an unexpected crisis. However, whether they access the funds, or are able to leave them for the next situation, your donation of any amount whatsoever will be giving them the gift of courage by donating to a cause that has been so meaningful for our Arabian community through your gift in Pat's honor.
It’s truly humbling how, in this Season of Giving, two people who have given so much now find themselves at the receiving end of compassion and care. Thank you for the incredible outpouring of love and support. The Arabian Horse Community has always been a family, and now is a moment when it truly takes all of us.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Loving Friends of Pat T!
