The Blessings Of Our Community

The Blessings Of Our Community image

Horses, especially our Arabian horses, make living life much so very much better for us, but it is not without its challenges, both financially and physically. The strong and supportive community surrounding this most special breed is one of the many blessings that come with them, both in the good but especially in the most difficult times.

On Wednesday April 17th, 2024 Cristi was involved in one of those totally unexpected, tragic accidents with her horse. As she went to mount, her horse spooked and Cristi was thrown into the arena wall, knocking her unconscious. She was airlifted to Harborview and admitted into the Neuro ICU for a traumatic brain injury. Cristi sustained bruising and bleeding around her brain, several large blood clots around her brain, a small blood clot inside her brain, a fractured skull, fractured ribs and fractures in her face. They put a hole in the top of her head to place a monitor that measures the pressure intracranial swelling. Her pressures have been difficult to stabilize so she is still intubated and sedated.

Cristi has been an active member of the Arabian Horse Association for over 30+ years and has been riding for over 40 years. Horses are her passion and that is evident in the way she treats each and every horse lucky enough to be owned by her. Cristi has also been a generous supporter of youth equestrians - judging 4H shows, giving lessons and always being willing to share knowledge and encouragement with young riders.

If you know Cristi then you love her - that's just how it is. She is truly one of the kindest, most loving, caring and generous people you could ever meet. She always goes out of her way to lend a hand and bring a smile to someone's face... she is the queen of making everyone around her feel special and loved.

Cristi is a single mother with the financial responsibilities for her daughter Mady, their horses and their home on her shoulders. Thank you for considering supporting her during this difficult time.

Thank you,

Trisha (Cristi's sister)

Mady (Cristi's daughter)
