Sometimes, it happens that those who do so much for others unexpectedly find themselves in a similar position--and this is what's happened to dear Arabian Horse Ambassador Nedra Johnson.

Nedra runs a beautiful and soul-fulfilling lesson program out of the Om El Arab facility that introduces countless young riders to Arabian Horses. She is a tireless grass roots supporter of the Arabian horse, and one of the warmest and most supportive friends anyone could ask for. In addition, she is a central figure in countless young horsewomen's lives, teaching hundreds of children to love and learn through her Arabian Horse Riding Academy program.

At the end of March, Nedra was diagnosed with Uterine Cancer, and is headed for a fully hysterectomy as we speak, followed by chemotherapy and radiation. One of her deepest concerns is for her students to continue unabated, but in the meantime she is dramatically impacted by having to hire a replacement instructor for her program, and lose some major income through camps and horse shows that she had scheduled.

But Nedra is one of the bright spots in the universe--in her words, "My goal is to love my body and prepare for this journey. I’m already missing my active and beautiful life, but I’m focused on healing and practicing grace and gratitude along the way.

One of the most amazing blessings of this cancer has been the overwhelming amount of love that has surrounded me. It has been one of the safest, most beautiful and incredible feelings. It is humbling and empowering at the same time."

Please join us in supporting someone who is at the heart and soul of the Arabian Horse world, and support keeping her program alive while she fights. Fight for Nedra and all the wonderful things she does for our Arabian Horse world and the young lives she mentors.
